It’s not Whole Food, it’s not oil-free, it’s highly processed, and there is not just a trace amount of chemical engineering going into it – it’s the high-tech “Impossible Burger”. Its health credentials may be questionable, but on the ethical side: it’s “meat” that doesn’t involve slaughtering animals. So it ticks one box at least. And is a great “transitioning” product that might just help a few people get off the meat bandwaggon.
A group of investors including Bill Gates is investing $75 million in Impossible Foods, the company that makes a vegeburger that is engineered to emulate meat to the extent some say it “bleeds”.
